I don't think you will find such a download off the internet. you can
contact hp/compaq to send you the latest version of smartstart cd - or you
can even request the 5.5 version if you want to set up an older server (such
as the proliant 3000 series).

I've ordered the 5.5 CD's from HP but it's going to be 8-10 days from
Ireland to the UK!!!!!!

Was hoping a sympathetic reader would have an ISO image I could download as
the Proliant 3000 will not run with anything newer than that version.

I cannot believe that they don't have a downloadable version - but will
allow u to download the newest!

thanks anyway... probably just have to wait it out!

If I remember correctly (it has been some time since I had to setup a
proliant 3000) you will also be needing some floppy disk that came along
with the server. I can't remember what it was needed for, only that I had to
have this disk in order for the setup to go on. Just remember not to panic,
when you see a message saying that "Disk ABCD is needed" go to the hp.com
web site and search for "Disk ABCD" using the name that the wizard pops up
that needs. You will be able to download that disk off the website and
continue with the installation.
